The Barber hauler is a line with a snatch block
running on the sheet, routed via a deck block in the
toe rail just abaft the shrouds. The Barber hauler
adjusts the sheet lead in the fore and aft direction
If you attach a snatchblock to the toe rail, you will
obtain an extra single sheeting point further forward.
Leeward side is always the side of the boat where
the boom is located (except when gybing when the
boom might be held back from swinging over to
the other side by a preventer).
To broach means that steering control is over-
powered by an imbalance of the sail forces. This
imbalance is self amplified by the increased heel
angle. |
